PROJECT OVERVIEW
This 800-bed, 308,000 sf residence hall is located on an urban block at the edge of Texas Southern University’s campus and is connected to the main campus via the Tiger Walk, running past the site’s southern border.
The project is a seven-story Student Residential facility for Texas Southern University’s freshman with an open courtyard which includes multi-use academic and social spaces. The building is divided; one half for male students, the other half for female students. Each floor features common spaces with television/gaming areas and smaller study spaces. Each unit houses two enrolled students with a shared bath and WiFi capabilities. Shared laundry facilities are conveniently located on each floor and an exterior terrace for student congregation. The first floor has a fully functional cafeteria and other food vendor spaces along with two office reception areas.
